I've been involved in laboratory work for over thirty years. My experience spans a wide range of polymers, from organic coatings to plastics, and also high-performance composites. From determining which tests to perform to selecting the appropriate equipment, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in the testing and analysis lab. There's been plenty of "what are these black specks" and "why is this cracking" along the way.
My journey with ISO 17025 began when the laboratory at the Mississippi Polymer Institute became accredited. As a co-author of the quality system there, it was an exciting change of pace from the lab bench.
After seeing the accreditation process from the laboratory's perspective for five years, I decided to begin assessing through A2LA. I already had a relationship with A2LA, as they were—and still are—the accrediting body for MPI.
In May of last year (2024), I decided it was time to retire from MPI. After 29 years of providing technical support to various companies, I felt ready for a change. Since then, I’ve been assessing laboratories to ISO 17025 on a full-time basis.

(More black specs and why it’s cracking.)
I’d be happy to work with you on your latest production problem. This includes test method selection and equipment specification assistance as well.
I enjoy lab activities; be it a physical test or an analytical one. As such, I like to work with companies on starting or growing their laboratory capabilities.
Please reach out if you have a question or a need. Even if I can't help, I might know someone that can.
