Experience
I have more than 30 years of experience in laboratory testing, materials evaluation, technical services, and laboratory operations. My technical background includes plastics, rubber and other polymers, composites, coatings, adhesives, mechanical testing, and analytical methods.
Much of my career has involved helping manufacturers investigate materials, product, and production problems—determining what to test, selecting appropriate methods and equipment, interpreting results, and helping turn laboratory data into useful technical information.
My ISO/IEC 17025 experience includes helping develop and operate an accredited laboratory quality system and, since 2019, performing laboratory assessments as an independent contractor and Staff Approved Lead Assessor for A2LA.
I also bring experience in technical leadership, project management, business development, strategic planning, budgeting, and manufacturing-scale support.
Approach
I like technical problems that require more than simply running a test and reporting a number. Sometimes the question is which test to run. Sometimes it is whether the test is being performed correctly. Sometimes it really is, “What are these black specks?” or “Why is this cracking?”
My approach is to understand the actual problem first, then determine what testing, technical information, or quality-system work is needed to address it.
